Operational update - 9 September 2022 - Black Sea Grain Initiative/Joint Coordination Centre

9 September 2022, ISTANBUL – The Joint Coordination Centre (JCC) authorised today the movement of six outbound vessels carrying a total of 96,181 metric tons of grain and other food products under the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The six commercial vessels authorised to move tomorrow, 10 September, are:

1) EAUBONNE (IMO 9663104) from Odesa to Huelva, Spain, carrying 32,794 metric tons of corn, 13,853 metric tons of wheat, and 10,853 metric tons of barley.

2) KAN 2 (IMO 9154268) from Odesa to Libya, carrying 11,000 metric tons of corn and 2,981 metric tons of barley.

3) MAGNOLIA (IMO 9575333) from Chornomorsk to Türkiye, carrying 6,600 sunflower oil.

4) BRIZA (IMO 9286815) from Chornomorsk to Psachna, Greece, carrying 6,500 metric tons of corn.

5) PRINCESS AMNAH (IMO 9008067) from Chornomorsk to Italy, carrying 6,000 metric tons of wheat.

6) LADY SHAM (IMO 9171383) from Odesa to Ravenna, Italy, carrying 5,600 metric tons of sunflower seed.

In addition, two more vessel whose scheduled departure today was delayed is expected to move tomorrow: A-LINE (IMO 9246920) from Chornomorsk to Egypt, carrying 10,700 metric tons of corn, and LUCKY (IMO 9037305) from Yuzhny/Pivdennyi to Piraeus, Greece, carrying 6,000 metric tons of corn and 4,400 metric tons of barley.

Destinations indicated are based on information received at the JCC and may change based on commercial activity.

As of 9 September, the total tonnage of grain and other foodstuffs exported from the three Ukrainian ports is 2,463,991 metric tons. A total of 237 voyages (129 inbound and 108 outbound) have been enabled so far.

The JCC concluded today eleven inspections on the following vessels: seven inbound vessels, ASTRA CENTAURUS (IMO 9611802), CS CIHAN (IMO 9045704), IKARIA ANGEL (IMO 9194397), MUHAMMET GUMUSTAS 5 (IMO 8516287), NORAH (IMO 9460289), RUBYMAR (IMO 9138898), and TAMREY S (IMO 9171541), and four outbound vessels, BC CALLISTO (IMO 9400916), MUBARIZ IBRAHIMOV (IMO 9575292), NORD VIRGO (IMO 9711937), and SEALOCK (IMO 8218380).

The joint teams plan twelve inspections tomorrow on six inbound and six outbound vessels.

As per procedures agreed at the JCC, all participants coordinate with their respective military and other relevant authorities to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels under the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The JCC monitors closely the passage of commercial vessels through the maritime humanitarian corridor. 

Note to editors: The Joint Coordination Centre was established under the Black Sea Grain Initiative in Istanbul on 27 July 2022. It comprises senior representatives from the Russian Federation, Türkiye, Ukraine and United Nations and its role is to enable the safe transportation, by merchant ships, of grain and other foodstuffs and fertilizers from three key Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea to the rest of the world.
