Operational update - 8 September 2022 - Black Sea Grain Initiative/Joint Coordination Centre

8 September 2022, ISTANBUL – The Joint Coordination Centre (JCC) authorised today the movement of four outbound vessels carrying a total of 58,800 metric tons of grain and other food products under the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The four commercial vessels authorised to move tomorrow, 9 September, are:

1) SUPER BAYERN (IMO 9278911) from Yuzhny/Pivdennyi to Egypt carrying 33,000 metric tons of corn.

2) A-LINE (IMO 9246920) from Chornomorsk to Egypt, carrying 10,700 metric tons of corn.

3) LUCKY (IMO 9037305) from Yuzhny/Pivdennyi to Piraeus, Greece, carrying 6,000 metric tons of corn and 4,400 metric tons of barley.

4) SEVIL (IMO 9148518) from Chornomorsk to Constanţa, Romania, carrying 4,700 metric tons of rapeseed.

In addition, one more vessel whose scheduled departure today was delayed is expected to move tomorrow: KIRAN AMERICA (IMO 9491264) from Chornomorsk to China, carrying 30,000 metric tons of barley and 20,000 metric tons of corn.

Destinations indicated are based on information received at the JCC and may change based on commercial activity.

As of 8 September, the total tonnage of grain and other foodstuffs exported from the three Ukrainian ports is 2,376,291 metric tons. A total of 227 voyages (122 inbound and 105 outbound) have been enabled so far.

The JCC concluded today eleven inspections on the following inbound vessels: ANNABELLA (IMO 8919788), ATA OCEAN (IMO 9519614), CPT. AHMAD II (IMO 9031430), DERG (IMO 9393060), EIDER S (IMO 9364784), GLORY DINA (IMO 9464522), HORUS (IMO 9635690), INCE AKDENIZ (IMO 9456460), KAFKAM ETLER (IMO 9001112), PAULINE (IMO 9325350), and TOMAHAWK (IMO 9737591).

The joint teams plan twelve inspections tomorrow on seven inbound and five outbound vessels.

As per procedures agreed at the JCC, all participants coordinate with their respective military and other relevant authorities to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels under the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The JCC monitors closely the passage of commercial vessels through the maritime humanitarian corridor.  

Note to editors: The Joint Coordination Centre was established under the Black Sea Grain Initiative in Istanbul on 27 July 2022. It comprises senior representatives from the Russian Federation, Türkiye, Ukraine and United Nations and its role is to enable the safe transportation, by merchant ships, of grain and other foodstuffs and fertilizers from three key Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea to the rest of the world.
