Operational update - 7 September 2022 - Black Sea Grain Initiative/Joint Coordination Centre

7 September 2022, ISTANBUL – The Joint Coordination Centre (JCC) authorised today the movement of five outbound vessels carrying a total of 83,241 metric tons of grain and other food products under the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The five commercial vessels authorised to move tomorrow, 8 September, are:

1) KIRAN AMERICA (IMO 9491264) from Chornomorsk to China, carrying 50,000 metric tons of barley and corn.

2) SANTANA (IMO 9449388) from Odesa to Italy carrying 10,000 metric tons of wheat.

3) JASMIN QUEEN (IMO 9109861) from Odesa to Türkiye carrying 9,531 metric tons of corn.

4) CAPTAIN ADAM 1 (IMO 8914087) from Chornomorsk to İskenderun, Türkiye, carrying 9,300 metric tons of wheat.

5) FILYOZ (IMO 9407213) from Odesa to Aliaga, Türkiye, carrying 4,410 metric tons of sunflower oil.

In addition, one more vessel whose scheduled departure today was delayed is expected to move tomorrow: DIGNITY (IMO 9118238) from Chornomorsk to Türkiye, carrying 8,200 metric tons of sunflower seed.

Destinations indicated are based on information received at the JCC and may change based on commercial activity.

As of 7 September, the total tonnage of grain and other foodstuffs exported from the three Ukrainian ports is 2,334,850 metric tons. A total of 211 voyages (111 inbound and 100 outbound) have been enabled so far.

The JCC concluded today eleven inspections on the following vessels: two inbound vessels, BREEZE (IMO 9455650), MARANTA (IMO 9206669), and T-MED (IMO 9163142), and nine outbound vessels, CANGA STAR (IMO 9540039), GENERAL POLAD HASHIMOV (IMO 9575307), LADY EVA (IMO 9008110), LADY PERLA (IMO 9149732), MAINA (IMO 9699892), MASSA J (IMO 9224867), MRC LINA (IMO 9462299), and SARA (IMO 9259020).

The joint teams plan twelve inspections tomorrow on inbound vessels.

As per procedures agreed at the JCC, all participants coordinate with their respective military and other relevant authorities to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels under the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The JCC monitors closely the passage of commercial vessels through the maritime humanitarian corridor.

It comprises senior representatives from the Russian Federation, Türkiye, Ukraine and United Nations and its role is to enable the safe transportation, by merchant ships, of grain and other foodstuffs and fertilizers from three key Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea to the rest of the world.
