Joint Coordination Centre Operational Update (24 August 2022)

24 August 2022, ISTANBUL – The Joint Coordination Centre (JCC) authorized the movement of five outbound vessels carrying a total of 85,110 metric tons of grain and food products under the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The five commercial vessels authorized to move tomorrow 25 August are:



1) ASCANIOS (IMO 9276169) from Pivdennyi/Yuzhny to Germany, carrying 58,510 metric tons of corn

2) MOHAMAD Y (IMO 8107000) from Odesa to Israel, carrying 11,000 metric tons of wheat

3) BELLIS (IMO 9381952) from Odesa to Haifa, Israel carrying 6,000 metric tons of soya

4) ORIS SOFI (IMO 8920282) from Pivdennyi/Yuzhny to Tekirdag, Türkiye, carrying 5,900 metric tons of sunflower oil.

5) ZELEK STAR (IMO 9379117) from Chornomorsk to Mersin, Türkiye, carrying 3,700 metric tons of peas.

Destinations indicated are based on information received at the JCC and may change based on commercial activity.

As of 24 August, the total tonnage of grain and other foodstuffs exported from the three Ukrainian ports is 769,986 metric tons.

The JCC concluded inspections today on nine commercial vessels, six inbound vessels (CANOPUS (IMO 9401025), HELGA (IMO 9444912), LADY ZEHMA (IMO 9303431), MELINA (IMO 9550424), MICHALIS (IMO 9545510) and SEALOCK (IMO 8218380)) and three outbound (KUBROSLI Y (IMO 8000836), MARANTA (IMO 9206669), GREAT ARSENAL (IMO 9159062). They were all cleared to sail.

The joint inspection teams plan six inspections tomorrow on five inbound vessels (GOLDEN YARA (IMO 8915299), IRMGARD (IMO 9590967), SIMAS (IMO 9000314), LADY AILLAR (IMO 9550278), and QUEEN SARA (IMO 9132507))  and one outbound vessel KAFKAMETLER (IMO 9001112).

As per procedures agreed at the JCC, all participants coordinate with their respective military and other relevant authorities to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels under the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The JCC monitors closely the passage of commercial vessels through the maritime humanitarian corridor.

Note to editors: The Joint Coordination Centre was established under the Black Sea Grain Initiative in Istanbul on 27 July 2022. It comprises senior representatives from the Russian Federation, Türkiye, Ukraine and United Nations and its role is to enable the safe transportation, by merchant ships, of grain and other foodstuffs and fertilizers from three key Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea to the rest of the world.
